Flavor: A ringtail, which is a nocturnal mammal in the same family as the raccoon. The ringtail was once tamed by gold miners so that they could catch rats and other vermin in the miners' quarters, which is why ringtails are sometimes known as miner's cats. The idea with Flumi is that it does help miners in Desvega, and not just with rogue Rattata. Flumi's eyes shine brightly in the dark, which is an adaptation for hunting prey at night. Desvegan miners however, found Flumi's glowing eyes to be helpful for exploring caves, so Flumi are now often found in mining towns. Flumi sometimes even hang upside down by their tails to rest, acting as natural lanterns. Name is a portmanteau of "fluff" and "luminous."
