The Arkansas Legislative Council on Friday authorized nearly 480 state employees to receive merit pay raises and their resulting salaries to exceed their positions' maximum-authorized salaries in fiscal year 2025 that starts July 1.

A board of trustees' subcommittee for Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System on Thursday decided that the system for now shouldn't ask a judge to be appointed lead plaintiff in a class-action securities fraud lawsuit filed against the Kentucky-based Humana Inc. health insurance company.
