It was a heck of an October!I am extremely fortunate to have had the ability to take advantage of numerous opportunities through the FSU Real Estate Program and The Real Estate Society at Florida State University.At the beginning of the month, I had the privilege of attending the TRENDs conference held by the FSU Real Estate Center. This was the third time I have been able to attend this amazing conference. It was a great opportunity to make new connections and maintain relationships with professionals. So thankful to Yvonne Baker and Mandy Chapman for the execution of such an amazing event. Following TRENDs, I had the opportunity to hear from Landmark Properties on how they evaluate Student housing development. We were also tremendously lucky and were able to tour one of the projects they have under construction in Tallahassee. The touring of the Metropolitan Tallahassee provided a deeper look into all the moving in the development of a deal of that scale. Thank you Chad Madden, III, William C., and Miguel Chico for making this opportunity possible.To close out my October, I had the privilege of going to New York City with the FSU team for the CRE Finance Council’s 3rd Annual Real Estate Debt Case Competition. This competition allowed us to evaluate a mixed-use property in Chicago from the perspective of the lender. The process of diligent market and property underwriting, loan sizing, and the building of a presentation for a credit committee over one week was incredibly educating. I could not be more thankful for my team consisting of Alex Ahr, Will Myers, Grant Michaud, and Joseph Ludovici. Huge thank you to our amazing faculty advisor, Mariya Letdin. It would not have been possible without you.

This past week, I had privilege of participating in theAckman-Ziff AZ Educate Summer Intensive Course. The AZ Educate program focused on soft skill development to enable impactful career development; covering topics including business ethics, time management, networking, and relationship building. I’m thankful to have to ability to pursue this opportunity. The lessons covered will translate to various situations throughout my career. I would like to thank Simon Ziff and Sarah Skelton, as well as all the esteemed speakers. Additionally, I would also to thank Jacob Leoni who connected me with this phenomenalopportunity
