The Digital Library Center supports the creation and longevity of Florida State University's digital projects. It provides FSU faculty, staff, and community members with expertise in the digitization of materials, digital project management, metadata creation, and digital preservation.

Responsibilities

Works within the Digital Library Center (DLC) at Strozier Library to prepare and describe rare books and manuscript materials from FSU Special Collections & Archives and other digitization partners.

The candidate will primarily help staff with metadata description and occasionally other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications (ex. Excel).
  • Willing to work on repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a library environment.
  • Experience using both PC and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience using Google Drive, OneDrive, and LibDrive applications.

Anticipated Salary Range

$13.00/hour

Considerations

This is an OPS/temporary job.

This position would work 12-15 hours/week. The hours must be scheduled between Monday-Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.

This position is on-site at the Digital Library Center at Strozier Library.

Based on the duties, this position may require completion of a criminal history background check.
